Mahogany Beef Market

Market Place

Tagaytay's cold climate and breathtaking view of Taal Lake and Volcano are the main reasons locals and tourists visit the city. It also offers visitors various recreational activities that they can do and diversified dining selections to try while traversing through the city.

Due to Tagaytay's cold weather, particularly during November to February and during the rainy season, many people seek to dine at restaurants and kiosks with food delicacies with broth, which can provide warmth to their bodies amid the city's cold air.

One of the famous delicacies to try in Tagaytay is the bulalo soup (beef marrow stew), and the Mahogany Market is the ideal place to eat the beef dish as food stalls at the market offer it at a reasonable price.

About Mahogany Beef Market

Mahogany Market is a marketplace located along Mahogany Avenue near the Tagaytay City Proper. Aside from being known as a place where locals and tourists can shop for meat products, fresh produce, and souvenirs, the Mahogany Market is also famous for having some of the town's best bulalo.

The Mahogany Market is open for operation daily (Monday to Friday) from 5:00 AM to 8:00 PM. It would be best to note that the closing time may vary as it would depend on the volume of people during the day.

What to buy and try at Mahogany Market

As the Mahogany Beef Market is famous for its bulalo, the second floor of the marketplace houses a stretch of food stalls or small eateries that serves the delicacy. Accordingly, some eateries also offer people other Filipino main dishes and side dishes to provide visitors a more varied dining experience.
At the first level of the building is the meat market where locals and tourists can find different fresh and quality meat cuts.

On the other hand, there is a separate two-story building for dry goods. It houses stalls that sell fresh vegetables and fruit produce and various souvenir shops where visitors can buy coffee beans, espasol, and other Tagaytay City-labeled items, such as T-shirts, key chains, and purses.
